I couldn't be more grateful and stoked to share that I have been invited back for my second season to compete in USA Surfing Prime East, this time in the Boys U16 division!
The USA Surfing Prime Series is renowned as the pinnacle of junior surfing competitions in the USA, and I am beyond humbled, honored and excited to be fortunate enough to be able to participate again. 🌊🏄♂️
I want to extend a huge thank you to the organizers, coaches, sponsors, hosting cities and judges for making this season possible. I am honored to be recognized for my hard work and dedication to the sport. Thank you USA Prime for believing in me and giving me this incredible opportunity.
It's exciting to think that the USA Prime Surfing Series has been
the training ground for some of the greatest surfers in the world, including this year’s World Champion Caroline Marks, as well as Olympians like Kolohe Andino, Griffin Colapinto, and Caitlin Simmers. I am inspired by their journeys, and I am determined to carve my own path in the world of surfing.
My obsession with all activities in and on the water began at a very young age. I have always loved and been fascinated with water and before I even knew what it meant, I was a waterman.
I learned to swim before I could even walk. I was born in the desert of Arizona, but at age 4, my family moved back to my father’s birthplace of Nantucket Island in 2013. That’s when I learned to surf and I continue to surf every opportunity that I get since then.
I got my first surfboard the summer of 2013 when I was 4 years old and have been on a board ever since. I started sailing and racing in regattas when I was 5 years old. I also had an early fascination with airplanes as well. When I was 8, I was enrolled in an aviation camp where I began recording and earning actual flight time toward my pilot’s license. I now have over 12 hours of registered qualifying flight time. It is my goal to earn my pilots license by the time I am 16.
I also love yoga. When I was 11, I was accepted into the RYT (yoga teacher training) program and earned my certification when I was 12. I was the youngest to earn a 200 hour yoga teaching certification in Florida at that time.
Since the fall of 2018 my family and I have been traveling all over the US and North America, living in our RV.
In the winter of 2021 we took a family trip to Mexico where we all earned our open ocean SCUBA diving certifications.
Since the pandemic, we settled into a routine of enjoying summers in Massachusetts and winters in Flagler Beach, FL. While in Florida, my brother, Kydon, and I began competitive surfing in the winter of 2022. My brother and I longboard and shortboard competitively just about every weekend for a little over the last year and a half. My brother and I always surf together, have always surfed together and are best friends. We share all the same passion and love for the
water. After about two months of competitive surfing, in March 2022 we qualified for our first east coast NSSA regionals in both longboard and shortboard. We attended our first NSSA national competition in Huntington Beach in June of 2022. In September 2022 we were invited to compete in the USA Prime East series. Following the receipt of our Prime East invitations we were invited to participate in our first
Rising Tides event in Malibu for the WSL Longboard World Championships in October 2022.
In December 2022 we traveled to the North Shore of Oahu where we lived and trained with Kahea Hart of Hawaii Surf and Performance.
In February 2023 my family and I completed our Reiki Master training.
In June 2023 we completed our first Prime season, qualifying for the USA longboard Nationals in Oceanside. We also re-qualified for NSSA Nationals which were held in June 2023. We also qualified for our first ESA Eastern Championships held in September 2023.
At the 2023 USA Prime Longboard Championships in Oceanside, CA I placed 5th in the U14 Division and finished 9th in the U18 Division.
At the 2023 NSSA National Championships I finished:
3rd in the Nation in the Open Longboard Division
4th in the Nation in the Explorer Longboard Division
At the 2023 ESA Eastern Championships I made finals in two divisions where I finished:
2nd in the U14 Menehune Longboard Division
4th in the U18 Juniors Longboard Division
The purpose in telling you about all my passions and interests and activities beyond surfing is to illustrate that I am not your typical surfer. I am a waterman. I spent the months of July and August 2023 exploring the Pacific Northwest, hiking, white-water rafting, wake-boarding and working on a ranch. I also earned my Junior Lifesaving Certificate during that time.
My first love is surfing and I aspire to be a big wave surfer. I see no end to my desrire to surf competitively. I set goals and achieve them. I intend to be in, around and on the water for the rest of my life.
